Disc golf doesn’t take a break during the winter months, it just shifts the focus from top competitions to charitable events. Final Round Radio East kicks off the off-season with a pair of guests who are organizing a very intriguing event in Western North Carolina.
In Episode 105, Andy Goh, Pat Bowles and “Big Wave” Dave George talk to Jacob Byrd, camp programs manager at Victory Junction in Randleman, NC. Victory Junction is a camp that serves disabled children and gives them opportunities for growth, while challenging them to discover more about themselves.
Jacob is teaming up with NC State Coordinator Philip “F Baby” Lawrence (who also appears in this episode) to organize the second annual Campership Classic, a tournament that raised over $16,000 for Victory Junction last year. This year’s event is being held Sunday, November 19 on the Victory Junction campus. Learn more about this event by visiting DiscGolfDoesGood.org and VictoryJunction.org.
